All I can find is something of a moratorium for Sandwell CSC on Birmingham's web site, so hopefully with their kind permission:
This Saturday sees the ORCHID Eurovets make the trip to Sandwell in what will be a sad day for the club. Everyone within the sport has heard the efforts Brian Buck has put into bringing Sandwell Lions back but unfortunately it seems the team and the track will be put into the history books at the end of the year.
Luckily the Eurovets as well as Birmingham have been able to use the track before it closes this year though many in the sport will be hoping at the Lower City Road track will be still be here come March next year.
Timms: Can he take the top spot at Sandwell?
Paul Timms is currently second in the standings and just three points behind his Midland rival Joe McLaughlin as Mike Burgess is third. Timms and Hodgkinson will both be looking to use the experience of riding at the West Midlands track this season to help them this weekend. Hodgkinson will be glad to take his place after a nasty injury against Coventry has seen him on the sidelines. Determined to make Saturday, Steve will be looking to carry on the great year in the Eurovets.
